Presenters
Gerald E. Quirk, J.D., ED.M. 
Mr. Quirk is Vice President & General Counsel of Infinity Pharmaceuticals, Inc., and has over 12 years of experience representing biotechnology companies in connection with securities offerings and SEC compliance activities, mergers & acquisitions, licensing and other collaboration agreements, and product commercialization initiatives.  Prior to joining Infinity, Mr. Quirk served in a number of progressively responsible legal and business development positions at Genzyme Corporation, having most recently been responsible for the provision of all non-patent legal services to Genzyme’s oncology, biosurgery and cardiovascular divisions. 

Michele Keough, M.S., M.B.A.  Ms. Keough is Senior Director, IMD Program Management at Genzyme Corporation, where she leads Genzyme’s 2000 partnership with Cambridge Antibody Technology focused on monoclonal antibodies directed against TGF-beta, and Genzyme’s 2003 collaboration with Macrogenics focused on the joint development of a therapeutic monoclonal antibody for autoimmune disorders.  Both the CAT and Macrogenics collaborations have become leading examples of best practices in alliance and program management at Genzyme. 

Richard A. Johnston, J.D.  Mr. Johnston is a partner in the litigation department of WilmerHale and is co-chair of WilmerHale’s International Litigation Group.  Mr. Johnston’s practice focuses on litigation and arbitration of complex business disputes, both domestic and international, and he has represented a broad range of companies in the software, internet, health care and other industries, as well as agencies of foreign governments.  Mr. Johnston regularly advises clients on dispute resolution matters in licensing agreements.  Mr. Johnston is also involved in numerous pro bono legal activities at the international, national and local levels.
