Central Texas Chapter Upcoming Events To: Central Texas LES Members and Prospective Members Re: Lunch Meeting When: Thursday, January 29, 2004 (11:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.)

Program: The Internet is a tool used extensively by all businesses to advertise, market and communicate with both existing and potential clients. This special 1.5 hour meeting will feature three speakers from Broadwing, which provides Internet, data and voice solutions for companies worldwide (www.broadwing.com). Learn from inside the trenches on how to use the Internet effectively as a business tool and how to address legal concerns arising from the improper use and abuse of e-mail and the Internet. Topics discussed will include: I The stages of the Internet and the current state of technology; II What a company using the Internet should know about the broadband industry, the Internet and the infrastructure of the Internet; III Abuses of the Internet and risks to a business conducting business over the Internet (spam, spoofing, viruses, website fraud); IV Legal issues relating to the Internet (spam and copyright violations) and attempts to regulate the use of the Internet; and VI What's next (other than VOIP and IPv.6)?
