Legal Developments with Potential to Affect Deals

Lily Rin-Laures of Marshall, Gerstein & Borun LLP will talk about recent changes in the law and pending legislation that will impact the way deals are structured and the enforcement and valuation of patents. Topics include:
- Key provisions in the pending patent reform legislation
- CREATE Act
- Recent Supreme Court actions
- Proposed changes to the Patent & Trademark Office rules
Lily Rin-Laures has managed global IP portfolios and provided strategic counseling on patents, licensing and technology transactions for a variety of clients ranging from start-ups to large pharmaceutical companies. She draws on her experience as former General Counsel of a publicly held biotechnology company in assisting clients to achieve their IP and business goals. Her current practice focuses on biotechnology, traditional pharmaceutical and medical technologies. She holds an M.D. from Northwestern Medical School and a J.D. from Harvard Law School.
