We are pleased to have as our speaker Mark Brandt, Managing Partner of The Maple Fund.

Abstract:
Our speaker, Mark Brandt, will discuss Evaluation of Early Stage Technology.

Background:
Entrepreneur Mark Brandt, who brings a wealth of experience to the table to assist early stage companies in growing their enterprises, founded The Maple Fund in 2003.

Most recently, Mark co-founded Notiva, a retail financial software company where he was integral in bringing Notiva to the marketplace through business development and financing activities. He served as Cofounder and Board Member and Vice President of Corporate Development.

Prior to Notiva, Mark worked in retail with Retail Boutique Consultant Senn-Delaney (part of Arthur Andersen Consulting) focusing on cost reduction programs ranging from operations and personnel, to merchandising and supply chain. Early in his career, at Cargill Incorporated, Mark held roles as diverse as Grain Trader and National Sales Manager. In his over 11 years at Cargill, Brandt took part in rolling out four product lines into food, pharmaceutical, and agricultural sectors.

Mark is a graduate of Cornell University and St. Edward High School of Lakewood, OH. He serves on Cornell's University Council, Tech Transfer Steering committee, Entrepreneurial and Personal Enterprise Board, Tower Club Committee, Undergraduate Business School Campaign Committee and Alumni Ambassador Network. He is founder and board member of SayYES! to Cleveland, the Nano-Network, and is on the board of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, also in Cleveland.

The meeting will be held at noon at the Corporate Circle South Building on Chagrin Boulevard, and will provide a choice of lunches catered by Fat Sal‰s Pizzeria.. These include a Muffalata Sub (warm Italian lunchmeat sandwich with olive spread); an Eggplant Parmigiana Sandwich; a Charbroiled Chicken Salad; or a Meatless Greek Salad. A dessert and a beverage will also be served. The cost will be $12, payable at the door (checks made payable to "First Principals, Inc."). Please return your reservation - by email or phone - by noon on Monday, February 23. Although we have some very limited flexibility to add reservations after that time, you are obligated to pay for any reservations not canceled before the noon cutoff.

The Corporate Circle South Building is located at 30100 Chagrin Blvd. It is a mile and a quarter east of the I-271 exit and a quarter mile west of Lander Circle. The meeting room is on the third floor, just to the right as you exit the elevator. The meeting will start promptly at noon and end by 1:30 p.m. Lunch will be available at 11:30 a.m. and there will be ample networking time.
