Topic:
Project BirchBob: The First One-Stop Technology Locator

There is no single place to search through all the world's new technologies. Barry Datlof and Jean-François Plucker have undertaken a project to do exactly that. Project BirchBob is the first cross-industry effort to create a "One-Stop Search System" for listing and finding technologies available for licensing from government, academic, and industry technology transfer offices worldwide. It is also being expanded to allow searching for technical expertise, facilities, R&D collaborations, and sponsored research opportunities.

Named to honor the fathers of the Bayh-Dole Act, this XML powered search tool could revolutionize technology transfer. When technology needs and solutions begin to come together at a record pace, who knows what might happen to our economy? The BirchBob search engine is destined to become a CTO's best friend and an inventor's dream come true. Join us on June 10 and be among the first to learn the details of Project BirchBob, including how you may be able to be among the first participants.

Barry Datlof is the originator and confounder of BirchBob. He has served as the COO for an immunotherapeutics biotech company and VP Business Development and CIO for a medical diagnostics company. He directed licensing activities for the American Red Cross and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Datlof developed several previous knowledge management systems.

Jean-François Plucker, cofounder of BirchBob, is President of 4iP, Inc. which specializes in the communication of intangible assets. He served as Managing Partner of the Brussels based Patent & Trademark Attorney firm, Office Kirkpatrick. Plucker's experience portfolio includes a background in intellectual property, management, and economics.
