James E. Malackowski
James E. Malackowski is the President and Chief Executive Officer of I|C|M|B Ocean Tomo, an integrated intellectual capital merchant bank providing finance, asset management, M&A advisory and expert services. I|C|M|B Ocean Tomo assists clients - corporations, law firms, governments and institutional investors - in maximizing value from their Intellectual Capital Equity™ broadly defined. The firm seeks to capture benefits inherent within the rapid growth of both intellectual property as an asset class as well as that intellectual capital unique to the Minority marketplace.
Mr. Malackowski is a current and prior Director of numerous corporate entities, both public and private. He is a Past President of The Licensing Executives Society, a Trustee for the National Inventors Hall of Fame, a Director of the International Intellectual Property Institute and a former Resident Advisor for the U.S. Department of Commerce and U.S. Information Agency on matters relating to intellectual capital. In 1988, he co-founded the nation's largest consulting firm focused on intellectual capital valuation and strategy.
Mr. Malackowski is an internationally recognized leader in the field of intellectual capital equity management as well as a noted expert in business valuation and intellectual property strategy. Prior to forming I|C|M|B Ocean Tomo, he was President and CEO of Duff & Phelps Capital Partners having spent two years affiliated with one of Chicago's leading private equity firms and fifteen years as a management consultant and forensic accountant focused on intangible assets. Mr. Malackowski has consulted with clients and counsel on business valuation issues as well as all phases of the technology licensing process. He is frequently asked to participate as a member of the Board of Directors for leading technology corporations or firms with critical brand management issues. Mr. Malackowski's expertise extends to intangible asset portfolios as well as business segments and complete entities. He has a unique appreciation for the hidden intellectual capital within the Minority business community.

The Licensing Executive Society USA (LES USA) is comprised of over 5,000 members who are involved in the transfer, use, development, manufacture, and marketing of intellectual property, including professionals in the field of law, academics, science government, and the private sector.
