Financial controls are crucial for efficiently investing the limited dollars in an R&D budget. Managers must balance the value of additional information against the costs of obtaining this information. This session will discuss how to consider these trade-offs in a framework that will assist companies in managing and valuing R&D projects from early stages through commercialization.

About the Speaker:
Dr. Korenko is a Senior Consultant based in NERA Economic Consulting's Washington, DC office. He advises clients on intellectual property, valuation, tax, and antitrust issues across a variety of industries. He has published articles and delivered presentations on intellectual property valuation, transfer pricing, tax planning, and the role of intellectual property protection in economic development. Prior to joining NERA, Dr. Korenko taught at Meredith College and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He earned his Ph.D. in economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and B.S. and M.A. degrees from Virginia Tech.
