Title:  
SOX, Accounting Rules and Your Company’s IP

In this timely and informative presentation, Gary Bender will address recent Sarbanes-Oxley developments, as well as the evolving accounting standards and guidelines that are dramatically changing the IP management landscape for US and international companies.  Mr. Bender will detail what leading companies are doing to respond to expectations set by regulators and shareholders to mitigate risks and maximize value with advanced IP management techniques.

Speaker Bio:

Gary leads the IP Litigation and IP Strategy service lines for Ernst & Young’s Intellectual Property Services.  Gary has over 12 years of consulting experience, focused primarily on intellectual property matters.  He is very experienced in IP litigation consulting, Intellectual property dispute resolution, IP valuation and intellectual property management.  Gary currently specializes in assessing and developing IP strategies, patent portfolio analysis, competitive intelligence, M&A related IP due diligence, developing and executing IP commercialization strategies, IP valuation and dispute related IP damages analysis and expert support. 

Gary has been involved with numerous IP disputes involving clients in industries such as financial services, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, semiconductors, aerospace and defense, and software.  His responsibilities range from assisting counsel with developing and framing damages theory, assisting with discover requests, managing and developing the quantitative analysis relating to damages and expert report and expert witness support.

Gary’s expertise in intellectual property disputes and intellectual property law have led him to advise clients with a variety of other intellectual property matters including M&A IP due diligence, licensing support, royalty compliance competitive intelligence and market analysis, and portfolio mining and management.
