Companies are faced with a plethora of business challenges: enhancing market
position, increasing Wall Street's perception, improving their negotiation
position with respect to licensing out or in, strategically preventing IP
litigation and/or reconciling patent issues, raising money for new business
development, raising valuation for M&A, helping a "work out"
or "turn around" to raise debt, driving new product development,
or simply enhancing the vision of the company. Many companies are motivated
by today's business environment to find ways to leverage every asset, not
just those on the balance sheet, in order to meet these business challenges.
This presentation will discuss how creating and leveraging an IP Story can
significantly improve a company's success in meeting these challenges. IP
attorney and licensing managers will learn the value of the IP Story, how
to identify limitations of, and subsequently strengthen the IP Story, and
how an "IP Story" is used to convey a company's IP to appropriate
audiences (e.g. to licensees, shareholders, Wall Street, or M&A targets)
