TOPIC:  "The Importance and Growth of International Trade and Business and Its Impact on the Colorado Economy quot; 

Do you think that most U.S. manufacturing jobs are leaving the country? Colorado exports of manufactured products, minerals and agricultural products reached a record $7.95 billion in 2006, a 17.3% increase over 2005 making international trade a major contributor to the health of the state's economy.  While U.S. exports showed a healthy 11.3% growth in 2007, Colorado exports of goods are down.  Fortunately, service exports including architectural and engineering services, IT services, business travel and tourism, licensing and royalty fees, and education continue to grow and contribute an estimated additional $1.5 - 2 billion each year.  Jim Reis, President and CEO of the World Trade Center Denver will provide an overview of the activities of the World Trade Center and discuss the trends in international trade from Colorado and how foreign investment has helped bolster the state's economy."
