Companies that own valuable intellectual property (think Geoffrey Giraffe,
owned by ToysRUs or a manufacturing patent) often transfer their IP to an affiliated
intellectual property holding company. The technique is often used as a tax-saving
strategy and can create other business efficiencies. But, in the event of infringement,
the transferor-licensee faces challenges in its ability to recover damages
from the infringer.
The Denver Chapter of the Licensing Executives Society invites you to join
us at our next meeting to hear our experts discuss the many advantages and
potential pitfalls of using intellectual property holding companies. Our experts
for this meeting are:
Dean Smith, CPA--Ehrhardt, Keefe, Steiner, & Hottman, P.C.
Rick Holzer--Hensley Kim & Edgington, LLC
Patton Boggs LLP is graciously providing the conference room
and refreshments for this event.
One CLE Credit is pending approval for this program.
