Program:
Risk Modeling, Not Patent Mining: Identifying the Best Patents for Licensing
This program will begin with an explanation of why the traditional patent mining approach to patent licensing is inefficient, costly, and time-consuming. From that point, we will explore a new method to identify the strongest candidates for licensing. The two approaches will be compared and contrasted to demonstrate the benefits of risk modeling over traditional methods. Next, we will review common licensing scenarios in which patent holders often find themselves and how risk modeling can provide strategic advantages. We will conclude with a discussion on the benefits of this approach that extend beyond licensing.
Speaker:
Arthur M. Nutter
