Review of the advantages and disadvantages in open source licensing, starting with open source software and moving on to non-traditional "open" licensing models in biotechnology and life sciences.

Background:
Richard Stobbe is an intellectual property lawyer with Brownlee LLP in Calgary, Alberta practising in the areas of IP licensing, software and patent licensing, technology transfer, internet law and privacy law. He has spoken to numerous industry groups and has been a course instructor at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology, the British Columbia Institute of Technology and the University of British Columbia in business law and intellectual property law topics.
