The nature of nanotechnology and its applications creates significant technology
transfer challenges for public sector research organizations. These

field. Keith Gilchrist of NRC’s National Institute for Nanotechnology
at the University of Alberta overviews the challenges and strategies related
to research collaborations and protecting, evaluating and licensing nanotechnology.
Keith Gilchrist is a Business Development Officer with NRC’s National
