Meeting of the New Maryland Local Chapter

We are delighted to have Mr. Joseph Braido, III share his insight in regard to "Licensing Compliance-- Lessons from the Real World". Learn about the issues relating to such topics as the preparation the "Net Sales" Paragraph in a License Agreement for unequivocal calculation of royalty payments. In many cases the negotiator of License Agreements have moved on or simply cannot remember by the time the technology begins producing revenues the intent regarding some of the language finally agreed upon. Join us and learn how to decrease the age-old problem of business development rhetoric interpretation of by accountants.

This fifth meeting of the New LES Maryland Local Chapter will be held on the evening of February 23, 2005.

Speaker Introduction:
Joseph Braido - Director, Licensing Management Practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP

Mr. Braido has been with PwC for over 13 years and is resident in the firm's Florham Park, NJ office. He is part of PwC's Licensing Management team that assists companies with developing a proactive approach to licensing management and has extensive experience assisting clients with licensing management matters, including: the development of licensing compliance programs; performing examinations on behalf of licensors to ensure compliance with financial terms and conditions; drafting appropriate royalty and financial provisions in agreements; and dispute resolution.

His experience also includes assisting law firms and corporate clients in financial analysis and damages calculations in various litigation matters, including forensic accounting, fraud investigations, contractual disputes, breach of contract and intellectual property.

Joe is a CPA and has an MBA in Finance. He is a member of the AICPA, PICPA and LES.
