It is with utmost pleasure that the LES Maryland Chapter has the opportunity to welcome Hal Wegner to share with us his insights into the important Supreme Court KSR decision.

Topic:   KSR – What the Supreme Court Obviousness Decision Means Practical Implications for Daily Practice

  • Revaluing patent portfolios in light of KSR:  Which patents are strengthened?  Weakened?
  • Patent Drafting:  Eliminating “Background”, “Objects”; Other Changes
  • Procurement strategies to avoid KSR pitfalls:  Avoiding Applicant’s “Problem”.

Speaker Introduction: Harold C. Wegner is a the former Director of the Intellectual Property Law Program and Professor of Law at the George Washington University Law School and currently a partner at Foley & Lardner LLP.  He has been closely following Supreme Court patent developments and relating them to practical business considerations in patent procurement as well as enforcement and licensing.
