Topic:
Overcoming Common Obstacles In University/Company Intellectual Property Agreements
If you are interested in relationships between universities and industry, and in particular, how to overcome obstacles in negotiating license and research agreements, then join us on February 12 for the first 2004 meeting of the LES Minnesota Chapter. There will be a networking luncheon, followed by a panel discussion. The format will be a "debate" with a twist. The panel has identified several key issues that repeatedly come up as obstacles during negotiations. A company and a university representative will briefly explain their perspectives on each issue, and will conclude with the twist Ð suggestions on how to overcome the obstacles, and thereby efficiently reach win-win agreements. The winner of the debate will be the attendees, who will learn effective ways to circumvent negotiation bottlenecks and reach agreement. Remember that you don't need to be an LES member to attend. This meeting is open to anyone who is interested in a great networking opportunity and the topic to be discussed.
