We are delighted to have Howard Lieberman, President and CEO of the Silicon Valley Innovation Institute speak on Innovating Across Boundaries: Licensing Challenges and Opportunities.

In the 21st century innovation has taken on an important new characteristic- collaboration.  The days of the cowboy working in a garage to build a billion dollar enterprise are still with us but increasingly the need to innovate across departments, disciplines, corporate, regional, and national boundaries is increasing.  In order to do this, technology transfer is frequently being replaced by  technology partnering.  This potentially has a great impact upon licensing professionals who have been traditionally concerned with  acquisition as opposed to collaboration scenarios.
