Feeding the Pipeline VI: Evolving Pharma and Biotech Partnering Strategies

Six years ago, when Defined Health started giving an annual report on the dearth of late stage product opportunities for big pharma, the shortage probably came as no surprise to those L&BD executives in the trenches trying to find them. In the interim, the industry has watched, with fascination and trepidation, the escalation in the value of early and late stage in-licensing product deals.

There is no longer a need to count the number of late-stage products available for in-licensing. As everyone’s attention has turned to earlier stage opportunities, there is now a need to consider how pharma and biotech will interact to rethink partnering strategies in their attempt to create and build value for shareholders.

For those of you who will miss it at the LES Annual meeting, Ed will elaborate on a few key issues from this year’s iteration of his popular mini-plenary session, Feeding the Pipeline VI, and bring it to us locally.
