LES members,
I would like to invite you to an event on May 8 at the downtown Hilton. LES member David McFeeters-Krone of Intellectual Assets will be making a special presentation at the Federal Laboratory Consortium annual conference on "how you can exploit federally developed R&D and collaborate with the Federal Government on research projects." LES-Portland has arranged for free admission to this presentation for LES members and will be joined by Scott Dieter, FLC president. For those of you who are not aware of the opportunities to partner with the government, consider these facts:
- There are over 800 federal labs across the United States.
- They spend over $100 Billion a year on R&D.
- They have a mission to help out industry through licenses and collaborative R&D.
This is not a procurement program, but instead a method to bolster your R&D depth by leveraging federal assets.
Oregon is essentially devoid of federal labs, making this the opportunity of the decade to find out more about the process and meet the lab representatives that negotiate these agreements.
The presentation begins at 3:00, however starting at 1:00 you can review the tech fair when many federal labs have some of their projects on display.
Information about the event can be found at http://www.federallabs.org/meeting/2008/agenda/
You do not need to register on this website, however, if you are considering attending or have any questions, please drop David an email at dmk@intelassets.com.
