Lisa J. Tanzi is Vice President and Deputy General Counsel for the Business Division at Microsoft Corporation. Currently, she manages the legal team that supports the division comprised of the Information Worker, Microsoft Business Solutions, and Unified Communications Group teams. Previously, she managed the business and legal team responsible for corporate-wide outbound IP licensing activities and was instrumental in launching a broad IP licensing practice within Microsoft. Prior to that, she managed the legal team supporting the development and marketing organizations for Microsoft’s Windows operating system, server application and tools products, as well as the legal team that supported Microsoft’s standards activities. In addition to her management responsibilities, Lisa’s practice has focused on inbound and outbound software licensing, joint development agreements, patent licensing agreements, counseling on consent decree compliance, and providing advice on copyright, trade secret, privacy and other intellectual property issues. She has been named a “Super Lawyer” by Washington Law & Politics Magazine several times.
