Sonya Erickson:
Sonya F. Erickson joined the firm in 2003 and is a member of Heller Ehrman’s Venture Law Group.  Ms. Erickson’s practice encompasses the representation of emerging growth companies, established technology businesses and venture capital funds.  Ms. Erickson has represented issuers and underwriters in numerous public offerings.  She also has substantial experience in venture capital and other private financing transactions and has worked on technology-based strategic partnerships, collaborations and mergers and acquisitions. Ms. Erickson has represented these and numerous other clients from incorporation through initial public offering, merger and beyond.

Dr. Debra Leith:
Debra K. Leith joined the firm in 2002 and is a member of the Intellectual Property Transactions Practice Group, the Patent & Trademarks Practice Group, and the Life Sciences Practice. Dr. Leith has over 20 years of experience in the intellectual property and life sciences fields of law. Prior to joining Heller Ehrman, she served as Vice President of the Intellectual Property Group for ZymoGenetics, Inc. Dr. Leith represents a variety of international life sciences clients, from start-ups to global pharmaceutical companies. Dr. Leith’s practice involves advising and counseling clients, and negotiating and drafting agreements, across a spectrum of life sciences transactions, including strategic alliances, collaborations, technology and patent licenses, distribution, sales and co-promotion agreements, and manufacturing and supply agreements. Dr. Leith has a Ph.D. in Medical Microbiology, is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, and has extensive in-house counsel experience. Dr. Leith has been a speaker at various local and national meetings and seminars.
