- if you know how. Back by popular demand, David Dufendach's presentation
will present an advanced view (with practical examples) of income-based
methods for valuing intellectual property, including how to recognize
and use:
- Excess earnings method
- Decision tree/option method
- “With-and-without” method
- Relief-from-royalty method.

Valuation Services Group, specializes in the valuation of closely-held businesses,
intellectual property and intangible assets, financial instruments, derivatives,
and related matters. Dave holds a Master of Business Administration from the
Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, and a Bachelor of Arts in Business
Administration from the University of Washington. Mr. Dufendach has published
articles for Valuation Strategies and Business Valuation Review.
He is an AICPA instructor and course author, a guest lecturer for the University
of Washington MBA program, and a member of the adjunct faculty for the Seattle
University MBA program. Mr. Dufendach is also a member of the American Institute
of CPAs, the Washington Society of CPAs, and a past member of the AICPA ABV
Credential and Examination Committee.

From I-5 South:
Take the 45th Street Exit.
Travel East on 45th Street to 17th Avenue NE. Turn right onto 17th
at the UW entrance gates.
Gates Hall, UW Law School will be on your right.
Paid parking is available in the parking lot adjacent to the Burke Museum. This
is the closest UW paid parking area to UW Law School.
STOP and pay for parking at the UW Parking Control at the UW Gates.
From I-5 North:
Take the 45th Street Exit.
Travel East on 45th Street to 17th Avenue NE. Turn right onto 17th
at the UW entrance gates.
Gates Hall will be on your right

From Highway 520
From Highway 520, exit north onto Montlake Boulevard NE.
Turn left onto NE Pacific Street. Turn right and head north on 15th Avenue
NE.
Turn right and head east on NE 45th St. Take your next right on 17th
Avenue NE.
Gates Hall is located on the right just past the parking gate.
Parking Fee
Parking at UW will be $11 (cash) with $5 of the fee refunded upon exit
if you park for less than 2 hours. Parking may also be available in
the University Bookstore parking lot (a 5-minute walk from the law
school) or on the street.
Public Transportation
To take the bus to Gates Hall, check the bus
routes serving the University District.
The building is located on campus between 15th Avenue NE and Memorial
Way, near the intersection of 15th and NE 43rd Street, just south of
the Burke Museum.
