Have you ever faced a situation where the other guy made too low of an offer and you felt you had to make a counteroffer that could be perceived as aggressive? Counteroffers can be tricky; aggressive counteroffers can be downright dangerous. The likelihood of it backfiring and damaging your business is huge, especially when you are a David negotiating with a Goliath.

There are three techniques to making an aggressive counteroffer strategy. Jeanette Nyden, Seattle business attorney and negotiation skills trainer, recently made a successful, albeit aggressive, counteroffer in the sale of a multimillion dollar business to a Fortune 1000 company. Her technique netted her clients more than 11 million dollars more in the purchase price. The names will be changed, but the techniques and perspective provided should help you in your licensing or other business negotiations.

Are you intrigued?  Attend the May Seattle Chapter Licensing Executives Society meeting to learn the facts of Jeanette’s case example, the techniques she used and some general principles of making successful counteroffers.

Jeanette Nyden, J.D. brings more than a decade of experience as an attorney, mediator, and negotiation specialist to all of her client engagements. As a Seattle business attorney at the Law Office of Rodger I. Kohn, P.S., Jeanette leverages more than 14 years’ experience negotiating a variety of deals to help small and mid-sized businesses achieve outstanding results.  As founder and president of J. Nyden & Co., Jeanette has provided negotiation planning and strategy services in addition to training programs and seminars to dozens of companies over the past 4 years.

**Please extend a special invitation to your licensing colleagues to attend this meeting. The educational component and the networking will be very worthwhile to attendees of all experience levels.**
