Dave Tyrrell founded Vertex
Intellectual Property Strategies Inc. in 1998 in order to provide intellectual
property and licensing consulting services to businesses and government
technology development departments. Vertex bridges the gap between
the skills of business managers and technology developers, and legal practitioners.
Vertex's mission is to Help Businesses Profit From Technology and Know-How.
Dave has broadly-based
engineering and business management experiences and successes in areas
which include: product engineering, product development, sales and marketing,
profit-centre management and international licensing. This experience
has been combined with several years of independent consulting in the field
of intellectual property management and licensing to provide the foundation
for Vertex. Vertex's past clients include major Canadian corporations,
utilities, small and medium size businesses, government laboratories and
not-for-profit organizations.
Dave has a B.Sc. (Civil
Engineering) from Queen's University. He is a member of a number
of organizations including the Licensing Executives Society, where he has
served as the Toronto Chapter Co-chair for many years.
SUBJECT: Dave’s
presentation is entitled: “From Ideas to Products and Profit$ - How effective intellectual property
management can help you prosper”. The presentation and discussion will utilize Vertex’s
Technology Commercialization Roadmap to identify and explore the important role that intellectual asset management
and intellectual property protection plays at every stage of the technology
commercialization process – Idea Creation, Technology Development, IP Protection
and Exploitation.
COST: $20
for LES members, $30 for non members.
