The Vancouver chapter of the LICENSING EXECUTIVES SOCIETY invites all LES members and friends to a presentation by James Hatton of Farris, Vaughan, Wills & Murphy LLP on trends in life sciences licensing.

SUBJECT: 
Trends in Life Sciences Licensing: what the collaborations of 2006 tell us about 2007

James' presentation will provide an idiosyncratic look at partnering activity for life sciences in 2006, with a particular focus on some of the most important and innovative collaborations of the year. From this review, we hope to glean some implications for deal points and structures for life sciences licensing in 2007.

James Hatton, Partner, Farris, Vaughan, Wills & Murphy LLP

James is responsible for the Technology Group at Farris, Vaughan, Wills & Murphy LLP, and has 20 years of experience in assisting companies to exploit the value of their intellectual property assets, focusing on licensing and related transactions. James takes particular interest in collaboration agreements between biotech companies and pharmaceutical companies, and has acted for numerous local biotechs against large pharmaceutical companies. James is a member of the Governing Council of the National Research Council of Canada, the government of Canada's premier research, development and innovation organization, which leverages Canada's public and private science and technology infrastructure for the benefit of Canadians.
