IP and Tech Issues in the Video Game Industry
The Vancouver Chapter of the LICENSING EXECUTIVES SOCIETY invites all LES members and non-members to a presentation by Chris Bennett of Davis LLP on intellectual property and technology issues in the video game industry.

SUBJECT:
IP and Tech issues in the video game industry - An overview of how IP rights play out in the games industry, including a discussion of some recent cases and trends in video game law.
SPEAKER:
Chris Bennett is a partner with Davis LLP and a very active member of its IP, IT, Video Games & Interactive Entertainment Law Practice Groups. Chris is one of the few lawyers in Canada who specialize in the video game industry. Among other things, Chris advises clients regarding intellectual property and the development, distribution, licensing and support of software, video games and other technology, and he has written many articles and made many presentations regarding legal issues relating to the video game industry. Frequently quoted by the media as an expert in legal issues relating to video games and virtual assets, Chris is also an author of Davis LLP’s well-known Video Game Law Blog. Last year, Davis LLP became the first Canadian law firm to open a virtual office in the virtual online world of Second Life, and Chris can be seen participating in that office through his online avatar named “IPand Teichmann”.
