TIME: 12:00 to 1:30 - Lunch, presentation, questions and networking.
PLACE: McCarthy Tetrault, Suite 1300 – 777 Dunsmuir Street, Vancouver
SPEAKER: Bob Fieseler (McAndrews, Held & Malloy Ltd. of Chicago)

Bob Fieseler specializes in developing value-oriented patent portfolios for clients in diverse fields of technology. Bob has served as principal patent counsel for Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory and Ballard Power Systems among others. Bob has also represented clients in such diverse technical fields as superconductive energy storage devices, automotive fuel injectors and ultra-fine ceramic nanomaterials. Bob has extensive experience in representing clients before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, and before the European, Japanese and other foreign patent offices. Before he became a patent portfolio specialist, Bob devoted years of time to major patent litigation efforts before federal trial and appellate courts and before the International Trade Commission, including the hugely successful, 30-year polypropylene patent litigation for Phillips Petroleum Company. Bob received his engineering and management degrees from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and his law degree from Loyola University Chicago.
SUBJECT: Adopting a Value-Oriented Approach to Patenting.
Bob will draw from his experience in designing and defending high technology patent portfolios to pass on his views on extracting maximum corporate value from patents. Bob will review useful models of analyzing patent portfolios from an insurance point of view and as value to investment.
