Hello and welcome to our 3rd Quarter eBlast!
Summer is a busy time, so I’ll just hit a few time sensitive LES HCS highlights we feel will be of interest to you:
- LES Annual Meeting (October 19-23rd in Orlando)
Lowest pricing registration ends July 31st.
With a great location and a strong offering of healthcare industry specific content, this will be an exceptional meeting for folks in our Sector!
We especially invite you consider attending our "Anatomy of Recent Deals" Addon Session, which will likely be a sell out for the third year in a row.

- Check out the results of our inaugural LES BioPharma Royalty Rates and Deal Terms Survey!
The LES BioPharma Royalty Rates and Deal Terms Survey is now available. Download your copy of the report here to view the extensive data on recent deal terms and trends to help you benchmark your next licensing transaction. Results of a survey this type typically would cost you tens of thousands of dollars, but we provided it free to the member of LES... just another benefit of membership.
- Workshop and Roundtable proposals are now sought for the 2009 Winter Meeting to be held February 25-27 in San Antonio, Texas. The industry focus of this meeting is to be High Technology, Chemicals and Energy. However, we do anticipate producing some HealthCare content, especially where there may be convergence with other sectors. Deadline for submissions in August 1st, and proposals need to be submitted online at http://www.usa-canada.les.org/meetings/2009winter/
- Election of New Officers / Seeking Sector Volunteers. The Executive Committee of the LES HCS has established a Nominating Committee to develop our sector’s slate of officers for the next term, with the intent to complete their work by August 1st. We are seeking nominations for the officer positions, as well as volunteers who may have an interest to get involved with sector activities of next year. Please send suggestions to my attention using my email below.
- Seeking Advanced Training? Consider the BIO-LES Advanced Business Development Course, to be held October 27-29 in San Francisco, California.
