Committee Mission Statement:

The Digital Content Committee seeks to stimulate discussion in the dynamic area of digitized content and to promote sharing of best practices and new ideas. The creation, dissemination and protection of digital content cuts across a wide variety of industries, yet these groups confront similar issues and challenges. The Digital Content Committee will provide a forum for this diverse community to collaborate and address topics such as content licensing, digital rights management, infringement, and fair use.

Objectives, 2006-2008:

• Build LES membership in the field of digital content licensing
• Provide professional development learning opportunities for LES members in the field of digital content at the seasonal and annual meetings
• Create communication mechanisms for LES members interested in discussing digital content issues between meetings
• Partner with fellow committees in the field of digital content/internet at LES societies in other countries as well as LESI to enhance discussion and learning opportunities, since geographic borders are virtually non-existent with digital content
