E-102 Committee Meeting Minutes

Meeting Minutes, Las Vegas, NV

Back to HTS Home
February 15, 2002 Back to Meeting Minutes

Co-chairs Art Nutter (TAEUS) and Dana St. James (3Com) managed the meeting

Other attendees included Jim Sobieraj (President-elect of LES and with Brinks, Hofer), Seti Hamalian (Lapoint Rosenstein), Jim Boeckman (Vinson & Elkins), John Sumner (Merchant & Gould), Steve Adam (Chipworks), and Scott Forsyth (3Com).

Jim Sobieraj suggested a committee name change from "Electronics, Communications, and Internet Business" to the simpler "High Tech." The suggestion was considered highly.

It was agreed to roll the Las Vegas cancelled add-on to the Chicago meeting, if possible. This must be coordinated with Mike Lasinski (Intecap and program chair for Chicago).

Jim Boeckman agreed to be responsible for the content updates of the E-102 committee LES web page. Jim will contact Ken Schoppman of the LES office (schoppk@les.org) by the end of Feb to learn the mechanics and contact personnel. He will ensure the Palm Desert meeting notes, these notes, and the E-102 plan for 2002 are posted on the site ASAP.

Seti Hamalian agreed to be responsible for creating a brand and marketing the E-102 committee. He will create a demographic profile of E-102 members with data from the LES office (contact is Chrsitine Mercado [mercadoc@les.org]), use a survey, and focus groups. Seti will provide web page content to Jim Boeckman.

Steve Adam will prepare a 4 - 5 question survey for distribution to the E-102 membership via the LES listserv. He will have the questions back to Dana and Art by the end of Feb. The questions may be posted and results tallied on the LES web site.

John Sumner agreed to use his committee chair experience from AIPLA to assist our E-102 committee. He agreed to prepare the agenda for the Chicago E-102 industry sector meeting, incorporating a good topical presentation prior to the committee meeting. (Note: Art spoke with Mike Lasinski and reserved the "mini-plenary slot" on Wed AM at the Chicago meeting for this "extended and enhanced" industry sector meeting.

E-102 has signed up for a full-day add-on on Thursday of the Chicago meeting. Half of the day will be in conjunction with the Strategic Alliances committee (they need something other than healthcare to talk about) and the other half might incorporate Standards.

Respectfully Submitted,

Art Nutter
