2008 PDS Brochure (PDF)

The LES Professional Development Series (PDS) is a specialty program for Intellectual Asset Management (IAM) professionals, including those responsible for licensing and business development. The curriculum was developed by the most successful practitioners in the LES membership to raise the level of knowledge and skills of licensing professionals. PDS courses provide in-depth professional development for those whose daily responsibilities include any aspect of licensing and technology transfer: lawyers, financial and business development professionals, and IAM managers and team members from all industries.

PDS is currently offered in two levels, Fundamentals (for those with fewer than three years' experience) and Intermediate (for those who have a minimum of three years' experience or who have completed Fundamentals). An Advanced Course is in development with three components currently offered - Advanced Negotiation Skills, Advanced Valuation Skills and Advanced Competitive Intelligence.

Certificates of Completion are awarded to those who complete the Fundamentals course and to those who complete the Intermediate course along with four additional different PDS workshops (offered at seasonal and annual meetings).
