The CEEM Sector serves as a focal point for the members of the petrochemical, chemical, materials, energy, environmental and associated industries.
Our mission is:
- To educate members of our industry sector regarding emerging intellectual asset issues and technology transfer activities with particular emphasis on licensing, development (e.g., open innovation and R&D), intellectual property aquisition and divestiture in the market through
- workshops
- conferences and seminars
- articles - Les Nouvelles, Viewpoints & Website
- To provide a variety of networking forums for the promotion and facilitation of relationship building and technology transfer activities – and to become THE key place for such interactions
- And by providing the above to attract diverse membership from all constituencies – business, legal, technical, consulting, education, and from organizations of all sizes and complexities (e.g., companies, universities, venture capital, non-profit entities, legal, engineering and consultanting) representing chemical, petrochemical, material, energy and environmental licensing interests

What's New:
CEEM Royalty Rate Study
We are pleased to announce our Sector’s roll out of a royalty rate study by our members for our members. The results will be available free of charge to all LES members and will be based on CEEM royalty rate information gathered for the years 2007 and 2008.
This study will be staffed by a team of CEEM volunteers, lead by CEEM member David Leathers. The team is currently in the process of defining the framework for the project, which will involve developing the study scope and objectives, survey questions, marketing/recruitment of members to participate and data analysis.
We want to extend many thanks to Glenn Wheeler and Jim McCarthy for advice and assistance in getting the study off the ground. Jim is chair of the Healthcare Royalty Rate Study, first published in 2008, and Glenn is a volunteer for the same as well as a LES Trustee.
