Power Networking Hits The Mark
|
Pamela Demain |
LES (USA & Canada) is taking networking to a whole new level at this year’s
Annual Meeting in Vancouver. Join us this fall for targeted networking that
hits the mark for efficiency and effectiveness in making business connections.
Wondering how Power Networking can work for you? Here are the FAQs.
Q. What is Power Networking?
A. It is a systematic way for meeting attendees to get together.
Q. How does Power Networking work?
A. Everyone who registers for the LES Annual Meeting will be asked to fill
out a professional profile, which will then be posted for all meeting attendees
to preview. You can determine, in advance or during the Annual Meeting,
which participants you would like to meet. LES will schedule face-to-face
meetings at a time that is convenient for both parties.
Q. When and where will Power Networking take place?
A. Power Networking is available throughout the entire Annual Meeting, from
Sunday through Wednesday. Electronic message boards and e-mail reminders
will notify participants of their meeting requests. Pre-arranged networking
will take place in a dedicated lounge, which will have a relaxed "coffee
house" style atmosphere complete with couches, tables, beverages and
snacks.
Q. LES Meetings have always had a large networking component. How
is Power Networking any different?
A. Power Networking is a dynamic, strategic opportunity to make your meeting
time more valuable. Due to the large number of people attending an Annual
Meeting, you could spend a lot of valuable time trying to find the people
you need to network with. Power Networking allows you to make those connections
in advance or at the meeting itself. It offers a system for scheduling those
meetings as well as a designated place to meet. This systematic, targeted
approach allows you to make the most out of your networking time.
Q. Is Power Networking just for dealmaking?
A. No. Power Networking brings together people for learning opportunities,
jobs, partnering, brainstorming, asking questions from an expert, mentoring,
or meeting people outside your sector. In actuality, Power Networking serves
any purpose in which you need to connect with another individual at the
LES Annual Meeting.
Q. Who is facilitating and sponsoring Power Networking?
A. LES Trustee Pamela Demain has been instrumental in planning this exciting
new dimension of our Annual Meeting. Pam is active in outreach at Merck & Co.,
where she is the Executive Director of Corporate Licensing. Technology
Vision Group, an international life science business development organization,
will be on site to set up networking sessions, facilitate the process and
notify participants. Various companies are sponsoring this new LES initiative
so that it is available to everyone attending the Vancouver meeting at
no extra cost. In return, sponsors will have private rooms available for
their networking needs.
Q. How can I register for Power Networking?
A. Once you are registered for the Annual Meeting, you will be asked to complete
a profile and submit your list of potential networking partners. Participation
is free! Start looking forward now to the LES Annual Meeting and take advantage
of this powerful new resource in Vancouver. |
