Save the Date! Plan For Orlando In 2008 LES 2008 Annual Meeting • October 18-22, 2008 • Orlando, FL The signature event for LES (USA & Canada) each year is the Annual Meeting, and this year's meeting is no exception. The best speakers, the best training and workshops, the largest networking and deal-making opportunities, and the most fun will all take place in Orlando. This year's meeting is "Global Excellence in Licensing and Acquisition through Certification." While the agenda is not yet complete, an outstanding cast of plenary speakers is being assembled, including Kevin Mayer of EVP Corporate Strategy for Disney, who will speak on brand management and licensing. T.K. Wetherell, President, Florida State University, will tell us about bringing innovations to market. And, we will offer another of the perennially successful Titans series, this time addressing Licensing and M&A with a focus on China, India and Latin America. The slate of meeting sub-themes is the strongest in years. Find what interests you: Licensing in a Flat, Connected World; Shifting Licensing Options: Acquisitions, Mergers and Alliances; Achieving Excellence through Best Practices; Changing Law; Successfully Dealing in Emerging Economies; or Brand Licensing. Maybe you have the topic no one has yet considered. We are still accepting workshop ideas until January 15th; so take the opportunity to move to the front in Orlando. The 2007 Annual Meeting saw the launch of Power Networking, which surpassed expectations. Come to Orlando and accomplish in shorter time, with less travel and lower costs the networking, that you have to do anyway. For more information on Power Networking, see page 1. Did I mention Orlando? Our home will be the Gaylord Palm Springs Resort where family activities abound and you will be near—what else—Disney World and Universal Studios. This is the perfect opportunity to treat spouses, significant others and the kids. Watch for information to be posted on our Web site at www.usa-canada.les.org/meetings/, and to appear in upcoming issues of Viewpoints. Be sure to save the date now: Orlando, October 19–22, Gaylord Palm Springs Resort. And…don't forget to submit your workshop ideas at Written by Chuck Neuenschwander and Linda Corcoran.
