This is the history of the Licensing Executives Society, as recorded mostly in the spoken and written words and actions of the hundreds of leaders and other volunteers who contributed huge amounts of time and effort from the Society's founding in 1965 to the present day. The 250-page hardback volume chronicals the growth of the Licensing Executives Society from the 80-member founding group in the U.S. to today's 12,000-member worldwide organization.
The First 40 Years shows how the early leaders of technology licensing generously shared their expertise and knowledge to the next generation of licensing professionals.
The author, Jack Stuart Ott, was the editor of les Nouvelles, the Society's Journal, for 26 years beginning in 1974 and LES Viewpoints, the LES newsletter, when it was founded. The First 40 Years gives credit to Officers, Trustees, and the seemingly countless volunteers who have shaped and led LES to be the successful world organization that it is today. The book includes 13 chapters and four Appendixes.
Read about the first LES meetings, the first Tech Transfer courses and the formation of the International Societies. Many volunteers are recognized by name throughout the book and in a special section. The volume includes pictures of all presidents as well as informal pictures of members and spouses at social events.
With an introduction by LES Past-President Mel Jager, the book was made possible by a grant from the Licensing Foundation. It is available for $40.00. Click here to purchase on Amazon now!
