Change And The New Deal

LES Annual Meeting • Vancouver, BC • October 14-17, 2007

Vancouver

Join us for "The New Deal: Competing in a Global Economy" in beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia. LES members and associates will gather October 14-17 at the Vancouver Convention Center for our Annual Meeting. As an economic gateway between the East and West, Vancouver is an ideal location for the LES Annual Meeting.

This is the first annual meeting LES has held in Canada since September 2000. Other notable firsts include holding the main venue at the Vancouver Convention Center located right on the waterfront. Also for the first time, LES will use a housing authority to help book hotel rooms. The official five star hotels are the Pan Pacific Hotel, which is connected to the Convention Center via an enclosed walkway, and the Fairmont Waterfront Hotel, which is across the street from the Convention Center. Both have magnificent views of the harbor with the Canadian Rockies displaying a stunning backdrop.

The Canadian venue will mean an international destination for many attendees. The U.S. State Department sends a reminder to bring your valid passport, as the updated laws are now in effect. Check for more information at http://www.travel.state.gov/passport/passport_1738.html. With the U.S. dollar currently valued at $1.15 Canadian, your money will go further in Vancouver.

The 2007 Annual Meeting Committee, chaired by Mike Lasinski and Paul Roberts, is busy finalizing the meeting program, which will include:

  • Leaders of international licensing and technology transfer plenary panel;
  • Industry-focused mini-plenary sessions and interactive workshops for professionals all the LES key sectors.

The 2007 Annual Meeting will also feature signature networking and business development opportunities that make LES events unique. These include:

  • LES Tech Fair. For the fifth consecutive year, the LES Tech Fair will expand to offer firms with intellectual property assets and services unmatched access to their target audiences.
  • Sector-Specific Receptions and Dinners. Join your colleagues at targeted networking events organized by industry sector to make the most of your networking time together.
  • Welcome Reception, Themed Events and Closing Gala. The LES advantage is the ability to meet with such a wide range of professionals all dedicated to licensing excellence. These evening events bring together all meeting participants to share their experiences and build new relationships.

Registration for the 2007 LES Annual Meeting is now available at the meeting Web site, www.les2007.org. We look forward to seeing you in Vancouver, ready to make your "New Deal."
